Week 6 Weigh-in

Once again weigh-in day is upon us. When I went to bed last night I tried to predict what the number would be and I guessed that I would stay at 207. I’ve worked out hard but I did have a free meal on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and a treat on Tuesday. If your diet is 80% of your success then I figured I was screwed.

I woke up per usual and searched the nightstand in the dark for my glasses. I was trying to be discreet so that I wouldn’t wake up Brent or the kids. I was hoping to write my blog in peace. But I couldn’t find the dang things!

When I finally did find them I opened them up and tried to put them on my face but they felt really weird… was I having some warped Alice in Wonderland dream?

Then I looked in the mirror and found this…

baby glasses

I giggled and woke up the baby and Brent but it had no effect on Bridget’s comatose preteen slumber.

Usually on weigh-in day I’ll wake up and assess how chubby my fingers feel. This is to determine whether or not the scale will be nice to me. Water weight is my nemesis. I couldn’t slide my wedding ring off of my finger so I thought this would be a fun number.

When I stepped on I was surprised to see the scale say 206.2. That’s exactly a pound from last week… I’ll take it!

I’m happy with this number because I’ve been afflicted with that particularly pleasant time in a young ladies life that tends to happen once a month. (Unless you have PCOS then there’s no telling.)

This left me wondering about the ladies on The Biggest Loser. It’s not like you can stand on the scale in front of a million people and say… “Whoa, whoa, whoa! This isn’t fair! Joe doesn’t menstrate!” It just doesn’t seem right.

Then I started thinking about Twilight… how did Edward and Bella deal with this situation back in the days when he wanted to have her for lunch? Aunt Flo’s monthly visit can get down right dangerous!

… and that ladies and gentlemen are the deep thoughts that run through my mind first thing in the morning.

How did your week go? I invite you to do your weigh-in’s with me every Friday. Once you’ve reached a goal, whether it’s long-term or short-term, let me know and I’ll do a feature on your success! It doesn’t necessarily have to be about weight loss, it could be a fitness goal too. The best way to get a hold of me is by messaging me on the blog’s facebook page.

Have a great weekend everyone!

  1. Weigh- in is tomorrow. Nervous about it because I cheated for the super-bowl….I mean come on how could you not cheat on super bowl day. I haven’t been working out enough. I have some but not enough. I will keep my fingers crossed. I will be fine with one lb myself. Keeping fingers crossed. I have lost a total of 16 lbs in 5 weeks. I am happy but getting to that ugh point. I want to cheat so bad all the time. I am resisting but my mind is really wanting some fattty goodness. 🙂 65lbs more to go….heres to weighing less one or hopefully a few lbs at a time Nina!

    • I hear that sister! Aren’t you doing weight watchers? I thought they had a point system that allowed you to cheat once a week. I would highly recommend cheating just not as often as I did this week. The only way to do this without feeling like your missing out is to cheat every now and then. I eat clean 80% of the time and bad 20%.

  2. And what about olympians? You’ve got to do the high jump in your underpants in front of the whole world! Yikes for them if it’s not the right week. I gained a pound even though I swam a total of 70 laps in the pool and ran 3 and a half miles this week. Stupid universe.

  3. I stopped eating all the unhealthy carbs like white bread, white rice and white potatoes back in May 2012. I gave up soda and sweet tea too. We southerners love our sweet tea! But just making those changes alone have helped me drop 95 pounds. I am more active now than I have been in 10 years. I am not able to go to the gym so I bought a bicycle and ride it when I can and I have been doing Zumba at home. I have about 40 more pounds to go and have been losing my focus lately. I have seen ONEderland a month ago and seem to have hit a plateau of some sort….or maybe its the sweets I have been sneaking! 🙂 Anyhoo….I plan to pit the scale up today amd start Friday weigh-ins with you!

  4. Congratulations! Both on the pound weight loss AND “becoming a woman” again this month.

And your Twilight comment made me snort water out of my nose which cued another coughing attack. WHY do I still have a smoker’s cough 2 weeks out from the Cold of Doom when I have never smoked a cigarette in my LIFE??? All the consequences none of the glory.

  5. My weigh ins are Wednesdays! I lost 1.6 this week, but I too have my monthly visitor.
I reach my first goal soon! I’ve lost 11 lbs so far and 12 lbs is 5% of my starting weight. I get my first reward so I’m excited!
Yay on your weight loss! Congrats. 🙂
